Section I – The warning system as used on The Fiction Collective Discord server

This page is considered law on The Fiction Collective Discord server. I reserve all rights to update this page as needed. Now then, being that the server is a discord server, you must be in strict compliance with the Discord terms of service and adhere to the guidelines. These will be linked in the rules channel as designated by the correct icon.

This server uses a hybrid-warning system. All infractions unless otherwise stated here will result in a single warning. Once the offending user has acquired a total of three warnings said user will be muted for ten hours. When the offending user is unmuted after doing the time, they will get a total of two more warnings before and depending on the offense committed, they will receive either a permanent or temporary ban from the server. Remember though that mods and admins are free to use discretion when dealing with bad actors.

Section II – The big list ~ all major infractions that will get you banned permanently

Please remember and see to it that you treat other users with respect. Below is a list of infractions that will get you instantly and permanently banned. These are separate from minor infractions which will be listed in the full rule set with section three.

1. Using racist stereotypes, slang, or otherwise discriminatory language towards any group in general. This will not be tolerated period. Even if you identify with the group in question. Note: This includes all forms of discrimination.
2. Posting NSFW content will result in your account being immediately removed from the server. This essentially is a permanent ban.
3. Posting content illegal in the United States or Britain, will result in a police report being filed, obviously. This includes anything illegal in both countries.
4. Users under the age of 13 are not permitted to use discord as stated in the official terms of service, your account will be removed until you are of age.

Section III – The full rule set as laid out by the game master

Each rule on this list represents minor infractions that follow the hybrid-warning standard as laid out earlier. Moderators are free to use discretion at will in order to keep things civil.

1. Minor trolling is permitted so long as you are passive aggressive. The second it becomes more than a bit of fun for everyone involved it is considered major trolling. This is where the line is crossed. The way one reacts to being trolled can reveal many things, including but not limited to a persons current state of mind. Think of it this way, minor trolling is fun but major trolling can cause mental harm to those involved.
2. Keep all controversial discussion to dedicated channels. Politics don’t belong in gen-chat.
3. Swearing is permitted with limits as laid out by all previous rules and those that follow.
4. Keep spoilers for major franchises in the dedicated channels. Common courtesy.
5. Use channels for their dedicated purposes unless otherwise authorized by a mod or admin.
